Cookie Policy

How ScriptXchange uses cookies and similar tracking technologies.

Last updated: June 24, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website operators. ScriptXchange uses cookies and similar technologies (including local storage and session storage) to operate and improve the Platform.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. They include:

  • Session authentication cookie (app_session_id): Maintains your authenticated session after login. This cookie is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=None. It expires after one year of inactivity.
  • CSRF protection tokens: Prevent cross-site request forgery attacks on form submissions.

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferred pharmacy filters, dashboard layout preferences, and notification settings. Disabling these cookies may affect your experience.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Platform is used and to identify areas for improvement. Our analytics provider collects anonymized data including pages visited, time on page, and feature usage. No PHI is included in analytics data.

  • Umami Analytics: Self-hosted, privacy-first analytics. No cross-site tracking, no personal data sold.

2.4 Third-Party Cookies

Some features of the Platform may involve third-party services that set their own cookies. These include:

  • Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe may set cookies to prevent fraud and maintain session state during checkout.
  • Intercom / Support Chat: If enabled, our support chat provider may set cookies to identify returning users and maintain conversation history.

We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. We do not sell cookie data to third parties.

3. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, the Platform uses browser local storage to persist user interface preferences such as sidebar state, theme selection, and recently viewed items. This data is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

4. How to Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete cookies stored on your device
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all third-party cookies
  • Set preferences for when to be notified about new cookies

Please note that disabling the session authentication cookie (app_session_id) will prevent you from logging in to the Platform. Disabling other cookies may reduce functionality but will not prevent basic access.

For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit:

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites. The Platform currently does not alter its behavior in response to DNT signals, as there is no industry-standard interpretation of DNT. We are committed to privacy-respecting analytics regardless of DNT status.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice on the Platform.
